Deposit
From Terms & Conditions of Hire Clause 6.4:
(a) a non-refundable deposit is required to secure a booking with the balance being payable before pick up and/or delivery of the Equipment.
The deposit payment forms part of the total payment due for the Equipment and is separate from the bond payment; and
(b) the deposit may be used to offset any applicable charges payable by the Owner under clause 8.3(b), and any outstanding balance thereof
shall be due as per clause 6.6.
Deposits are calculated at 30% of the hire equipment charges excluding sales items.
Refundable Bond
From Terms & Conditions of Hire Clause 6.5:
(a) A refundable bond is payable for Equipment provided on hire and will be refunded if the Equipment are returned in good order and
working condition. If the Equipment returned are unclean, missing items, stained, or damaged in any way, the bond will be retained by
the Owner. The refund will be processed within twenty-eight (28) days of the expiry/return date of the Equipment, whichever occurs first.
Change of Mind
The Hirer must satisfy them-self that the equipment is suitable for their required task before taking it off-site. No refund will be given for a change of mind
Product Unsuitability
The Hirer must satisfy them-self that the equipment is suitable for their required task before taking it off-site. No refund will be given for work started by the Hirer, that is not finished due to the Hirer under estimating the task, or choosing the wrong equipment.
Unable to use equipment
The Hirer must satisfy them-self that they are able to use the equipment as required before taking it off-site. No refund will be given for equipment that has left site that is unused.
Equipment breakdown while on hire
From Terms & Conditions of Hire Clause 8.2 a):
…In the event of breakdown of the Equipment, provided the Hirer notifies the Owner immediately, hire charges will not be payable during the time the Equipment is not functional, unless the condition is due to negligence or misuse on the part of or attributable to the Hirer;
The hire will be placed on hold while the equipment is being fixed. If the item can’t be fixed in a suitable time frame, then a pro-rata refund will be given to the customer.
Unable to Supply
If equipment that has been paid for partially, or in full, can’t be supplied by Horowhenua Hire for whatever reason at the time of the Booking, all money paid will be completely refunded.
